Data you can defend

Real people, statistically robust data

Five users can show you a usability problem, but they can't tell you where you stand in a market. Benchmarking compares brands, and that takes a sample large enough to trust: 1,000+ participants from your target audience.

Every answer comes from a real person, never an AI-generated or synthetic respondent. Our in-house bot detection and quality checks, such as site validation and speeder removal, typically filter out 30-50% of low-quality or fraudulent responses before analysis.

We combine four datapoints - quantitative data, qualitative data, expert reviews and best practices - so every finding is evidence-grounded and every recommendation is prioritised by impact.

How it works

A structured, four-stage process. From kick-off to final delivery, a typical study takes 6-10 weeks.

  1. 01

    Strategic study design

    1-2 weeks

We define the competitor set, participant targeting and key conversion journeys with you, so the study answers the decisions your team has to make.

  2. 02

    Fieldwork and data integrity

    4-6 weeks

We recruit and field 1,000+ participants and validate every response, for a clean, defensible dataset.

  3. 03

    The research programme

Participants complete the same real-world tasks on your site and your competitors', and we map how AI assistants position each brand.

  4. 04

    Strategic synthesis

    1-2 weeks

We turn the findings into a competitive opportunity model and a roadmap, with every recommendation prioritised by impact potential.

Frequently asked questions

Is UX benchmarking the same as CX benchmarking?

They overlap. UX (user experience) benchmarking compares how easily people complete key journeys on a website or app; CX (customer experience) benchmarking covers every touchpoint with a brand. Our competitive benchmarking measures the digital part of your customer experience: the journeys prospective customers take to find, compare and choose a provider, scored against your whole competitive set.

How many competitors can we benchmark against?

Typically 5-10, local and global. We choose them with you during study design, so the comparison reflects the market you actually compete in.

Why do you use 1,000+ participants?

Benchmarking compares brands against each other, which needs a statistical confidence that small samples can't give. With 1,000+ verified participants, you get robust results for every journey and every competitor.

How long does a benchmarking study take?

Typically 6-10 weeks from kick-off to final delivery: 1-2 weeks for study design, 4-6 weeks for participant recruitment and fieldwork, and 1-2 weeks for analysis.

Can we include our own research questions?

Absolutely. We design every study collaboratively with you, so it captures the exact insights your team needs.

What languages can the research be conducted in?

Any language. We run each study in your participants' own language, and their answers are then translated into English for our analysis.

How is pricing structured?

Every study is scoped to your research objectives and participant requirements, so investment varies by project. We'll walk through a clear estimate during your discovery call. We don't charge an upfront deposit or retainer: payment is made once your results are delivered (in some countries or scopes, a partial upfront fee may be requested).
